One of the most iconic collections by Omega, Constellation was launched in the year 1982. The timepieces launched in this collection were famous internationally for the claws that were introduced in the design. 30 years down the line, this watch family has undergone constant reinventions, with the watches being equipped with modern technological innovations to go with the traditional designs.
Omega Constellation 18.104.22.168.02.005 is known for the striking silver dials on the face of the watch along with a small window that lets users know the date. The bezel of the watch has roman numerals engraved around it along with yellow gold claws that are created using 18k gold. This elegant watch can certainly help you stand out in a crowd with its unique looks and iconic claws. Any watch connoisseur will be able to tell, at sight, that you’re sporting an Omega watch that belongs to the Constellation series.
The Omega Constellation 22.214.171.124.02.005 has a set of astounding features that sets it apart from other watches from this collection. It has a chronometer, a transparent case back and even tells the user the date of the day. This is located at the 3 ‘o’ clock position on the watch.
The face of the watch is covered by the scratch resistant sapphire crystal which also has anti-reflective treatment on both its sides. The case itself is steel and has yellow-gold components along with a silver dial. This watch is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres. It has a power reserve of 60 hours as well.
This watch uses the Omega 8500 caliber to power it. The oscillation masses and the bridges are decorated with Geneva waves to add more to the watch.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
