Panerai Luminor

It may seem trivial, but it is an uncommon fact the amount of trouble a left handed person goes through while donning a watch on the right hand. Panerai recognized this early in their development as they observed commandos had to wear several wrist based equipment at once, resulting in them occupying the right wrist in addition to the left as well. Panerai decided to rectify this by designing a watch with its winding crown on the left side. The PAM00557 is a reminder of that design and is slightly different from your standard Luminor 1950 with its caseband having a cusped shape. This shape is reminiscent of the original cushion shape of the Radiomir and explains the story involved in the transformation from the Radiomir to the Luminor. Its minimalist black dial with soft and clear, luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers along with its trademarked crown protecting device, mark it as a cult watch. Its hand wound P.3000 calibre is housed in a massive 47mm polished steel case which is visible through its beautifully designed transparent case back.

Panerai is a Italian brand with long affiliation with the army .the brand creates masterpieces that are solid, rugged and robust for any terrain or conditions. The major invention is the Luminor: A particular lume that lasts longer.
The brand popularized by Sylvester Stallone,produces majority of the watches with 45mm case sizes and above. Stallone owns some 60mm huge watches. The 1950 left handed watch is a recreation of the world war 2 era.the markers and the hands are coloured to resemble the patina of old vintage ones. The left hand system for time setting is a tradition followed enabling easy access for pilots and war veterans to adjust time. The solid protection clasp is a common feature of every Luminor. The calfskin brown strap with white side stitches renders a military look but not finished to give that classic dress watch look.the movement is worth admiring and at par with Swiss standards.go for a caseback model.also the movement has a three day power reserve(a boon).compared to other watches,the model is not feature rich.
