About the Omega Speedmaster Collection
History
Be it the first space watch or the first chronograph under the brand, the Omega Speedmaster collection holds various distinctions under its belt. Launched in 1957, the Speedmaster collection was made for sports and racing. In 1965, during the Sigma 7 mission by NASA, astronaut Walter Schirra took his Omega Speedmaster with him. This made the Speedmaster the very first watch that went to space. Even today, the Speedmaster Professional is the only watch certified by NASA.
The Moonwatch
Following the tradition of the Speedmaster that went to space, the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is the only watch certified for Extravehicular Activity (EVA). Today, the watch is more about being the only space watch in the world. The Moonwatch features a robust chronograph on the dial with a tachymeter on the bezel. The Moonwatch is made available in novelties every year with different materials.
The Speedmaster 38
Adding a touch of soul and vibrance to the Speedmaster collection, the Speedmaster 38 series features a set of a diamond-studded, widely vibrant set of timepieces. Retaining the DNA of the original Speedmaster of being a chronograph, the timepieces feature a horizontally stacked chronograph amongst the exuberant variations.
The Two Counters
Diving away from the original setup of a Speedmaster, the Two Counters series features a tachymeter on the bezel and a second-time zone at the 3 o’clock sub-dial. It also features a date window at the 6 o’clock marker. Further cementing the legend of the Speedmaster is the Chronoscope, a timepiece that is equipped with both a pulsometer and a telemeter on the dial with a unique spiral pattern. Instilling a sense of rarity, the Two Counters Moonphase features a detailed moon phase indicator at the 6 o’clock marker and a date sub-dial at 9.
Dark Side of The Moon
The dark side of the moon is home to a lot of conspiracy theories, one of them being the abundance of unknown but precious materials. The first to debunk these theories were the astronauts from Apollo 8. To pay homage to these astronauts cum explorers, Omega decided to launch a series under the Speedmaster collection called the ‘Dark Side of The Moon series. The timepieces in this series are home to various unique materials and precious stones such as diamonds in some. In stark contrast to the persona of the series, there is also a timepiece called the White Side of The Moon, a fully white timepiece reflecting the aesthetic acumen of the brand.
The Instruments
Expanding the ever-increasing horizon of excruciating timekeeping abilities, Omega decided to incorporate multi-functional timepieces with over-the-top abilities. Under the Instruments series is the Speedmaster Skywalker X-33, a set of timepieces that features a perpetual calendar, multiple time zone, dates, and the signature uni-directional bezel. To be able to further demonstrate the capabilities of the Instrument series, Omega decided to equip it with a timepiece that can also tell the exact time on Mars. Called the X-33 Marstimer, the timepiece was made in conjunction with European Space Agency. The series is also equipped with a Regatta timer called the X-33 Regatta ETNZ Limited Edition which is just limited to 2,017 units.
The Heritage Models
Keeping the heritage alive, the Speedmaster collection is home to the Heritage series. Equipped with a set of timepieces that are made with various unique materials such as the Canopus Gold, the Heritage series celebrates the timeless elegance of the Speedmaster collection.

Omega Speedmaster Mark II is truly a time machine that travelled through the pages of history and reached modern era. A perfect re- engineered model of the Speed master created in 1969, which was equipped with hand wound calibre 861. The modernized design of this true icon is a self-winding machine powered by the advanced Co-Axial calibre 3330. Through the design is more or less similar to that of 69 designed mark II, having steel case with link bracelet, grey dial with 3 sub dials featuring 30-minute counter at 3, 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. It’s now more sophisticated and spellbinding. The orange fluorescent chronograph second has been given a sharp but bold look, matching with the index and the inner circle of dial. The tachymeter, hour, minute and tip of seconds hand is illuminated through Super-LumiNova. Where the transparent tachymeter is underlined, the hands are provided with coating. The barrel shape design is supreme that is complimented by the flat scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that gives seamless clarity with protection. Truly this omega has made it’s way through time defeating all possibility of getting lost in the history.

The dial of the watch reflects the look of the dashboard of a futuristic car and represents the thrill and adrenaline rush that is a part and parcel of motor racing. Crafted for motor sports enthusiasts, the watch has a tachymeter scale on the bezel for approximate speed measurements. The black dial has chronographs with bright red hands that enhances the bold and trendy appeal of the watch many times. The case and strap are made of steel and the watch is powered by automatic movement. There is a sapphire glass covering for protection against scratches.
