Omega’s Seamaster Planet Ocean line was launched in 2005 as a tribute to the brand’s dive watch legacy. Omega has remained synonymous with professional dives watches ever since it launched the Marine in 1932. The introduction of the Seamaster series sealed the brand’s position as the tough and reliable timepieces of choice for sailors and divers.
Stylishly designed, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 184.108.40.206.03.001 features a strong and sturdy liquid metal case with attractive blue, rotating ceramic bezel. Liquid metal is considerably harder than stainless steel and resistant to scratches. The strong built quality of the case, which measure 45.5mm is complemented well by the screw down crown. Encased inside this strong case is a feature-rich and eye-catching blue dial. This watch dial boasts luminescent hands and dial markers. There are also two sub dials present in the dial for chronograph function. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches while providing great sunlight visibility.
An Omega 9300 Caliber Self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement ticks inside this Seamaster watch. It offers precise timekeeping with stability and durability of movement. It boasts two directions winding to reduce winding time. This movement has been certified by the official Swiss chronometer testing institute (COSC) for precision. The power reserve of this watch is an impressive 60 hours. This Omega watch is a chronograph that will allow you to measure the smallest intervals of time with great accuracy. Also, the watch functions include displaying date and small seconds apart from normal timekeeping. Another special feature of the Planet Ocean 220.127.116.11.03.001 is its helium escape valve which comes in handy for professionals working in pressure chambers during underwater work or crude oil exploration. The waterproofing of this watch is down to a depth of 600 metres.
Illustrious people who wore Omega’s Marine and Seamaster watches include William Beebe, the marine biologist and explorer famous for his record-breaking Bathysphere dives, Commander Yves Le Prieur (inventor of Scuba) and Jacques Mayol – the legendary freediver known as The Dolphin Man'
Launched in the year 1948, the Omega Seamaster Collection was inspired by the waterproof watches made toward the end of World War II for the British military. The watches in this collection have acclaimed worldwide fame due to their combination of exceptional stability and awe-inspiring designs. These watches are ideal for serious underwater sports and adventures.
This collection features several amazing series under it. First introduced in 1957, the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial features the same dark dial, symmetrical case, big numbers and hands, and lighter indexes like its predecessor. The Planet Ocean 600M Collection showcases several watches with stunning designs and exclusive Co-axial movements. The Aqua Terra 150M Gents’ collection is easily recognizable because of its “Teak Concept” pattern on the dials. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Ladies’ Collection was the first to be equipped with the cutting-edge anti-magnetic Omega Master Co-Axial calibres. Available in lacquered black or blue dials, the Diver 300M Collection showcase white skeletonized hour and minute hands. The Ploprof 1200M is equipped with Co-axial caliber 8500 and is water-resistant up to 1200 meters. The winding crown located at the 12 o’clock position, surrounded by the two chronograph pushers at its sides; give the Bullhead collection its unique name.
In the James Bond movies since the release of GoldenEye in 1995, the character has consistently worn an Omega Seamaster. The Omega brand ambassador, Michael Phelps, an Olympic swimmer and multiple times gold medallist, wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
