Launched in 1999, the Co-Axial escapements marked a revolution in the watch industry as it was practically the first new watch escapement to enter the scene in about 250 years. In 2007, exclusive Co-Axial Calibres were launched by Omega with less friction, greater efficiency and a performance that grew on the wearer instantly.
Renowned for their dynamic range of materials and styles, the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra series watches are right at home in land and sea. The case of the Omega 184.108.40.206.06.001 is designed in such a way that it reminisces of the wooden decks of luxury sail boats. This brushed stainless steel case measures 43mm and contrasts nicely with the polished steel bezel. It houses a grey dial that has a linear texture design. Both the hands and the dial markers of this dial are also made of steel with luminescent fills. There is a large month and date window located at the 3 o’clock position. This stylishly understated dial is protected by a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The crystal is also anti-reflective making it easier for you to read under sunlight. The case back is transparent, showing off the complex mechanism of the movement inside the case. It is also protected by the same kind of sapphire crystal that covers the dial. The case is held by a brushed steel bracelet.
Featuring the in-house Omega 8601 Caliber movement, this Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra showcases high accuracy when it comes to timekeeping. In fact, the movement is COSC certified Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. It features the Co-Axial escapement for greater precision, stability and durability. There is also a silicon balance spring that makes the movement less sensitive to shocks and is almost unaffected by magnetic fields. The power reserve of this movement is an impressive 55 hours when fully wound. The water resistance of this watch is rated at 15 bar which is down to a depth of 150 metres.
Launched in the year 1948, the Omega Seamaster Collection was inspired by the waterproof watches made toward the end of World War II for the British military. The watches in this collection have acclaimed worldwide fame due to their combination of exceptional stability and awe-inspiring designs. These watches are ideal for serious underwater sports and adventures.
This collection features several amazing series under it. First introduced in 1957, the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial features the same dark dial, symmetrical case, big numbers and hands, and lighter indexes like its predecessor. The Planet Ocean 600M Collection showcases several watches with stunning designs and exclusive Co-axial movements. The Aqua Terra 150M Gents’ collection is easily recognizable because of its “Teak Concept” pattern on the dials. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Ladies’ Collection was the first to be equipped with the cutting-edge anti-magnetic Omega Master Co-Axial calibres. Available in lacquered black or blue dials, the Diver 300M Collection showcase white skeletonized hour and minute hands. The Ploprof 1200M is equipped with Co-axial caliber 8500 and is water-resistant up to 1200 meters. The winding crown located at the 12 o’clock position, surrounded by the two chronograph pushers at its sides; give the Bullhead collection its unique name.
In the James Bond movies since the release of GoldenEye in 1995, the character has consistently worn an Omega Seamaster. The Omega brand ambassador, Michael Phelps, an Olympic swimmer and multiple times gold medallist, wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
