Launched for the very first time in 1970, the Omega Seamaster Professional 600 has been designed to endure the physical rigours of deep sea diving. In 2009, Omega came out with an updated version called the Seamaster “Ploprof" created especially for men.
The device is known today as the Seamaster “Ploprof “1200M 220.127.116.11.01.002. The term “Ploprof” has been derived from the first few letters of plongeur and professional. When put together, this French phrase means “Professional Divers”.
The Seamaster Ploprof 1200M 18.104.22.168.01.002 sports a black, round dial, with a date display between the 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock positions. It has white Baton style hands, with the hour baton outlined in a vibrant orange hue. The case window is made of a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective Sapphire crystal.
A 55 mm stainless steel case encompasses the mechanics of this watch piece. The case is mounted with a bi-directional black bezel with the numerals and diving scales painted in white- Super-Luminova, which lights up the scales and allows reading time even while swimming in deep waters.
An orange rubber strap allows you to fasten this unique timepiece on your wrist.
As this timepiece has been designed especially for diving enthusiasts, it is water-resistant to an amazing depth of 1200 metres. This safety feature of the watch allows divers to enjoy their diving experience to the fullest without worrying about any casualties. The automatic helium escape valve and bezel security pusher are two safety features that greatly benefit professional divers.
The Chronometre has a caliber of Omega 8500, with automatic movement. The Co-Axial Escapement ensures precise time telling of this watch. It also features a free sprung balance and two barrels mounted in series.
Its winding screw is bi-directional and the bridges and oscillating mass have a Geneva wave in Arabesque finish. It has a power reserve of 60 hours.
Launched in the year 1948, the Omega Seamaster Collection was inspired by the waterproof watches made toward the end of World War II for the British military. The watches in this collection have acclaimed worldwide fame due to their combination of exceptional stability and awe-inspiring designs. These watches are ideal for serious underwater sports and adventures.
This collection features several amazing series under it. First introduced in 1957, the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial features the same dark dial, symmetrical case, big numbers and hands, and lighter indexes like its predecessor. The Planet Ocean 600M Collection showcases several watches with stunning designs and exclusive Co-axial movements. The Aqua Terra 150M Gents’ collection is easily recognizable because of its “Teak Concept” pattern on the dials. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Ladies’ Collection was the first to be equipped with the cutting-edge anti-magnetic Omega Master Co-Axial calibres. Available in lacquered black or blue dials, the Diver 300M Collection showcase white skeletonized hour and minute hands. The Ploprof 1200M is equipped with Co-axial caliber 8500 and is water-resistant up to 1200 meters. The winding crown located at the 12 o’clock position, surrounded by the two chronograph pushers at its sides; give the Bullhead collection its unique name.
In the James Bond movies since the release of GoldenEye in 1995, the character has consistently worn an Omega Seamaster. The Omega brand ambassador, Michael Phelps, an Olympic swimmer and multiple times gold medallist, wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
