Omega, as a brand is well recognized for its repertoire of models, especially for professional divers. The Seamaster Planet Ocean series was launched in 2005 and is known for its high-resistance even in the environmental rigours of the deep sea.
The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 126.96.36.199.03.001 has a round, midnight blue dial with indexes and Baton style markers that are highlighted in white. Protected by scratch-resistant and anti-reflective Sapphire crystal, the dial also features a date display window positioned at 3 o’clock.
A 42 mm, robust titanium case is mounted by a unidirectional rotating bezel especially made for divers. The winding screw is attached to the side of the case and serves the purpose of manual regulation of time. Perfectly complementing the titanium material and dark blue hue of the watch, is the blue watch band.
This Omega 8500 caliber chronograph has a self winding movement; it can be worn daily without the hassle of manually regulating the time. The Co-Axial Escapement reduces friction and thus makes this timepiece more durable. A free sprung-balance and 2 barrels mounted in series ensure that the devise is protected from shocks and pressure differences. The automatic bi-directional winding permits trouble-free winding. The watch features Geneva waves in arabesque.
The timepiece has a power reserve of 50 hours and is also water resistant to a depth of an amazing 600 meters.
The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean series has been launched as a tribute to the Good Planet foundation that the brand has partnered with. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this series has been set aside by Omega for funding two projects- preservation of the mangroves and sea grasses in Indonesia and education of the local population regarding conservation of resources for a balanced environment.
Launched in the year 1948, the Omega Seamaster Collection was inspired by the waterproof watches made toward the end of World War II for the British military. The watches in this collection have acclaimed worldwide fame due to their combination of exceptional stability and awe-inspiring designs. These watches are ideal for serious underwater sports and adventures.
This collection features several amazing series under it. First introduced in 1957, the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial features the same dark dial, symmetrical case, big numbers and hands, and lighter indexes like its predecessor. The Planet Ocean 600M Collection showcases several watches with stunning designs and exclusive Co-axial movements. The Aqua Terra 150M Gents’ collection is easily recognizable because of its “Teak Concept” pattern on the dials. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Ladies’ Collection was the first to be equipped with the cutting-edge anti-magnetic Omega Master Co-Axial calibres. Available in lacquered black or blue dials, the Diver 300M Collection showcase white skeletonized hour and minute hands. The Ploprof 1200M is equipped with Co-axial caliber 8500 and is water-resistant up to 1200 meters. The winding crown located at the 12 o’clock position, surrounded by the two chronograph pushers at its sides; give the Bullhead collection its unique name.
In the James Bond movies since the release of GoldenEye in 1995, the character has consistently worn an Omega Seamaster. The Omega brand ambassador, Michael Phelps, an Olympic swimmer and multiple times gold medallist, wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
