Originally, the Constellation Ladies watches were part of the Omega line since 1982. Constellation Manhattan was the first one, and it featured the now iconic “Griffes” or claws. In 2009, the whole line was given a complete redesign, resulting in aesthetics that started to attract a new generation of Constellation fans. The current collection blends the iconic charm of the old designs with the modern technical excellence.
Dramatic and enduring designs are the hallmarks of the OMEGA Constellation line of watches. This line of watches is characterized by “Griffes”, or claws, and striking dials. It has a 24m stainless steel case that is held by a stainless steel bracelet with 18K yellow gold bars. The Omega Constellation ""Pluma"" Quartz 22.214.171.124.57.001 features an 18K gold bezel studded with jewels. Cradled in this beautifully feminine bezel is an even more captivating engraved natural champagne mother-of-pearl dial. This dial is decorated with an attractive wavy pattern that extends from the claws. There are 12 diamond dial markers and gold hands with luminescent material fills. A domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial and also offers greater readability to the wearer with its anti-reflective properties.
The Omega 1376 Caliber Quartz precision movement with rhodium-plated finish is featured in the Omega 126.96.36.199.57.001. It is a Co-Axial movement that assures precision, stability and efficiency. Featuring a silicon balance spring, it also minimizes the effect of physical shocks. This movement has a power reserve of 41 hours when fully wound. The functions of the watch include hours, minutes and seconds. This Omega Constellation watch is water resistant down to a depth of 100 metres.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
