Omega SA, owned by the Swatch Group, is a Swiss luxury watch brand based out of Biel, Switzerland. The brand is proud to have served the British as well as the American armies. In 1917, Omega was chosen by the British Royal Flying Corps as the official timekeeper and in 1918 the American Army chose it for the same purpose.
The Omega Constellation Quartz 188.8.131.52.53.001 is designed with precision. This luxury watch for women comes with a blue coloured guilloche dial which is studded with twelve skillfully cut round diamond hour markers. The minute and hour hands of the watch are golden with a tone of red that adds to its appeal. It has a matching 18K red gold bezel engraved with Roman numeral hour markers. The strap, made of stainless steel and 18K red gold, is equally attractive and so is its 24 mm case.
The Constellation Quartz 184.108.40.206.53.001 comes with a Caliber 1376 movement. It is fitted with the robust sapphire crystal which is known for its scratch resistant properties. The anti-reflective treatment of this material allows an easy glance at the time even in bright sunlight. Being water resistant to a depth of 100 meters, you may adorn it freely even during on a beach holiday. The watch has a power reserve of 41 hours which means you don’t have to take the trouble of winding it manually if you don’t wear it for a day.
Omega has been chosen as the Official Timekeeper for the Olympics several times since the Summer Olympics held in 1932. The brand even launched a special Olympic edition for the 2008 Olympics.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
