The 184.108.40.206.05.001 model, launched under the Constellation Collection, does justice to the range like no other model before it. Timeless and classy, the model reflects Omega’s abilities to come up with the most unique designs in the market of luxury watches.
Like all its predecessors, the model is characterised by “Griffes” or claws on its outer ring. But its similarity with other models ends here. This timepiece is elegantly beautiful and stunningly simple because of its minimalistic design. Sleek and slender, it exudes a feminine charm, associated with the modern woman.
Its dial is made of white mother-of-pearl material and is characterised by the complete absence of hour markers, making it uncluttered and easily recognisable. The only embellishment found on the dial, are the obliquely placed polished gold stars to enhance its appearance and dauphine gold hands. A stationary bezel adorned with 28 round diamonds, has been mounted on top of a 24 mm stainless steel case to make the model appear opulent. Protected by sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, the timepiece is completely scratch resistant. Greater intelligibility is ensured because the crystal virtually eliminates glare. The customisable belt on which the case is presented is two toned- stainless steel and brushed yellow gold. Featuring a push button foldover clasp, the watch is very easy to wear and remove.
A power reserve of 41 months ensures that the watch will keep functioning for a long time, even if it is left unused. The use of Omega 1376 caliber makes the timepiece singularly accurate and reliable. This caliber is defined by its Quartz precision movement with a rhodium-plated finish for longevity as it helps in reducing friction. Water resistant to a depth of 100 metres, this watch can even be worn during snorkelling and swimming.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
