The Omega Constellation Co-Axial 38 mm 18.104.22.168.02.001 model comes enclosed in a stainless steel case and displays red gold coated indexes acting as hour markers. You can see the time even in the dark as the hour and minute hands come etched with luminescent markers. The date display is strategically positioned at 3 ‘o clock. Perched on the 38 mm steel case is the 18 k red gold bezel with Roman numerals imprinted on it as hour markers. The watch is presented with a beautiful bracelet, which exhibits alternate bars of stainless steel and red gold. Its pushbutton foldover clasp fastens the watch securely to your wrist and also ensures ease of wear.
The transparent caseback of the timekeeper allows you to view the intrinsic movement of the watch, which is a treat to watch. Crafted using sapphire crystal, the case window of the watch protects it from external wear and tear. Moreover, the anti reflective coating on both sides of the watch offers you with enhanced sunlight legibility.
The watch reads impeccable time owing to its Co-Axial Calibre 8500 movement, a Co-Axial Escapement movement, which provides the timekeeper with stability and exactitude. You can wind it both sides with its free sprung balance system, which reduces the winding time drastically. The timekeeper has an amazing power reserve of 60 hours. With a water resistance of 100 m, you can go swimming, diving or snorkelling while wearing the watch, without any tension of it getting damaged.
The Constellation collection went through a thorough makeover in the year 2009. The distinctive features of these elegant timekeepers consist dials in striking colours like silver, champagne, black and brown, mother or pearl and shades. There are various types of dial patterns too like the supernova or the mother of pearl. Besides, the newly launched time pieces have a water resistance of 100 m.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
