The Omega Constellation Quartz 27 mm 22.214.171.124.55.002 watch exhibits an enduring design with its “Griffes” or claws, and striking dials. Its mother of pearl dial is marked with diamond set indexes as hour markers and hour hands. You can see the time even in pitch darkness as the hour markers come with luminescent fill. One of the major highlights of the watch is its 18k yellow gold bezel, which is mounted on the 27 mm stainless steel case body with its engraved Roman Numerals. The watch further showcases a bracelet, which possesses an elegant blend of stainless steel and 18 k yellow gold.
The case window of the watch is crafted with a domed, scratch resistant sapphire crystal, which comes with the anti reflective treatment enabling you to view the time with clarity, even in bright sunlight.
Equipped with one of the most advanced mechanisms, OMEGA’s calibre 1376 a precision quartz movement with rhodium plated finish, the watch tells time accurately. It has an exceptional power reserve of 41 months, which means even if you don’t wear the watch for a prolonged period of time, the time piece can still read accurate time. It is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres permitting you to wear it while swimming or while indulging in other water sports.
Many famous faces like Mikhail Gorbachev and Elvis Presley are found to sport the time keepers of the Constellation line. The brand ambassadors of the collection are none other than the tennis star Anna Kournikova and actor Zhang Zi.
The quartz technology was introduced to Omega’s wristwatches including the Constellation line in 1970. The Constellation collection has many high precision watches, the most famous of which is the Marine Chronometer, which is till now the only certified marine chronometer and is considered to be the most accurate autonomous wristwatch.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
