Constellation Manhattan, the first iconic collection of luxury watches by Omega was launched in 1982. With its dramatic and enduring design as well as striking dial colours, the collection captivated minds of watch enthusiasts right away. The watches of this collection feature distinct design elements referred to as “Griffes” or claws and a star positioned at 6 o’ clock. This collection was re-launched in 2009 with a perfect merge of iconic design elements, as well as modern technical expertise. The claws as well as the signature star have now become synonymous with all the timepieces of this collection.
Similar to all the other Omega models, the Omega Constellation Quartz 27 mm 184.108.40.206.05.001 model also symbolises luxury and precision. Its white mother of pearl dial showcases artistically designed rose gold indexes along with rose gold hour and minute hands. Crafted using rose gold, the bezel is perched on the 27 mm stainless steel case and has Roman numerals embossed on it. Besides, the bezel also possesses “Griffes” or claws, which is a common feature for all Constellation timepieces. Its stainless steel bracelet is fully resistant to corrosion and exhibits steel and gold bars placed alternatively. The watch remains fastened to your wrist securely with its push button foldover clasp.
Made of sapphire crystal, the face of the watch is scratch resistant and fully safeguarded from external damage. You can see the dial with clarity even in harsh sunlight as the crystal comes with anti reflective treatment.
The watch reads the most impeccable time owing to its calibre 1376 movement. It is a precision quartz movement featuring a rhodium plated finish. With a power reserve of 41 months, and a water resistance of 100 metres, you can indulge in any kind of water activities while wearing the watch.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
