The Omega watch company, which was founded in 1848, by Louis Brandt, has a rich heritage of crafting exquisite timepieces with engineering excellence. Developed over the years with extensive research, the brand has developed breakthrough technology in the field of horology. Introduced in 2009, the Constellation collection is a revamped version of the Constellation Manhattan watches launched in 1982.
The Omega constellation quartz 24 mm is a watch designed with rich aesthetic values to entice the modern woman, who is fond of technology as well as appearance. This device stays true in holding onto the Constellation legacy of its ancestors by making use of the famous claws or griffes. The face of this model is white mother of pearl, with diamond set hour markers, and is protected by scratch proof sapphire crystal. These precious stones have been handpicked by the brand on the basis of the 4 Cs of quality-cut, clarity, colour and carat. Coated with ant-reflective treatment on both the sides, the crystal ensures that time is intelligible even on the brightest sunlit days. Dauphine shaped hour and minute hands move flawlessly across the dial to display the current time. The bezel is adorned by roman numerals engraved in it. The dial is presented in a stainless steel case measuring 24 mm, and comes with a bracelet of the same material.
The 18.104.22.168.55.006 model is powered by The Omega quartz calibre 1376, which enables precision timing. The watch can withstand water pressure up to 100 meters without getting adversely impacted. With power reserve of 48 months, the timepiece will last for a long time.
Omega watches have had a rich history. The watches by this brand were used as the official timekeepers for the 1932 Olympics.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
