Omega Constellation collection was launched in 1952, and has been an essential part of the Omega family. Its progenitor, a limited edition wristwatch named “Century,” was launched in 1948, on the 100th anniversary of the brand. Since this watch was greeted with great enthusiasm, the Constellation collection was launched, which has the same qualities as that of Century.
The Omega Constellation 188.8.131.52.02.002 for women, features a stainless steel case with a brushed 18 carat yellow gold bezel mounted on it. Roman numerals are engraved on the bezel for aesthetic value. The patent griffes or claws, launched in the Constellation Manhattan, are present at the sides of this timepiece. The watch has a signature chased 24 mm silver dial, with a constellation star, situated at the 6 o’clock position. Stick shaped indexes in yellow gold mark the hours. Dauphine shaped hour and minute hands are rimmed with yellow gold and feature luminous fill, thus enabling you to read the time even in low light conditions.
Domed sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial, which makes it shatter proof and resistant to scratches. The watch is presented in a stainless steel and yellow gold bracelet with horizontal links. These links are ergonomically designed to give you maximum comfort. The bracelet comes with a push button foldover clasp at the end, which enables you to wear and remove the watch easily.
This stunning timepiece is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres, so that you can wear it while swimming. It is powered by Omega Caliber 1376, which is a Quartz precision movement with rhodium plated finish. The caliber delivers extraordinary precision, and ensures that you get accurate time consistently. The watch has a power reserve of 48 months, and gives you precise time throughout.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
