The design philosophy of Omega’s most successful collection i.e. Constellation, is based on a symbol of this line, where Omega set new records for precision in Cupola of the Geneva observatory in 1951. Characterised by its innovative griffes and claws, the Omega Constellation still holds the domination for producing some of the finest watches in the luxury horology.
Another feminine masterpiece from the Constellation collection, the Omega Constellation 18.104.22.168.02.001 imbibes the brand’s enduring horology for the female division. Donning a durable steel case brushed in silver, the timepiece enumerates the feminine sophistication via the 18ct red gold bezel, engraved with Roman numerals as the secondary hour markers. The bezel, furthermore, complements a white finished dial set with red gold stick indexes as the primary hour markers of the watch. Red gold sword arms present out the dial with a radical outlook of Omega’s striking dial design philosophy. The legendary Omega star is positioned at the 6 o’clock position of the dial, with the company logo positioned below the 12 hour marker of the watch. One can easily wear and remove this timepiece by the silver steel bracelet, with the links finished in red gold. The gold crown calibrates the dial quartz movements of the hour and minute hands for a precise timekeeping. As a part of the Ladies collection “Constellation”, the timepiece proclaims originality, while staying deeply rooted in the tradition of the line.
Driven by the official Omega Calibre 1376, the Omega Constellation 22.214.171.124.02.001 is powered with rhodium plated quartz movements offering an impressive battery cycle life of 48 months. Its 100-metre water resistance makes it an ideal wrist companion for daily activities. A domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial from direct contact, while the anti-reflective treatment inside renders the dial with increased readability even under bright sunlight.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
