In 1982, the Omega Constellation collection was launched. Various timekeepers of this collection garnered huge acclaim among the aficionados world-wide. The most striking features of the watches of this collection, are their beautiful colours and lovely designs. In 2009, the watches went through a thorough revamp to suit the taste of today’s women and received a great response.
The all new Constellation collection boasts of stylish and elegant timepieces. Its “Griffes” or claws, which were initially meant for water resistance, are retained in the new timepieces as design elements.
Luxuriously designed, the Omega Constellation Quartz 27 mm 22.214.171.124.51.001 model, features a stylish and elegant black dial with a supernova pattern. The hour markers are represented by 12 finely cut diamond set indexes and the silver hour and minute hands come with a luminescent fill. Thus, you find no difficulty seeing the time even in the dark. Mounted on the stainless steel case is a diamond set bezel, which exhibits the patented “Griffes” or claws and engraved Roman numerals acting as hour markers. The watch is presented on a sturdy stainless steel bracelet, which complements the bezel and dial perfectly.
Made of sapphire crystal, the case window provides rigorous protection to the watch, safeguarding it from all external damages. Moreover, the anti-reflective coating on the crystal allows you to see the time even in bright sunlight.
Powered by the Omega’s calibre 1376, a precision quartz movement, the watch reads impeccable time. It comes with a rhodium plated finish, which makes the movement frictionless. Besides, the timepiece has an astounding power reserve of 48 months. You can go bathing, snorkelling, while diving wearing the watch. You can also indulge in other water activities without the fear of damaging the timepiece.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
