OMEGA HISTORY :
The history of OMEGA starts from 1848, when its founder Louis Brandt opened a sales office for watch manufacture at La Chaux-de0faunds, Switzerland. It was just after a period of four years that he became the largest producer of watches in Switzerland. Since then OMEGA has been climbing up the staircase of success and has never looked behind.
The round case, with a diameter of 27 mm, is made up of durable, rustproof stainless steel. The case is mounted by a diamond studded bezel which adds a gorgeous glow to the watch. The blue mother-of-pearl dial has a perfectly embraced wavy pattern spread from one end to another of the dial. The dial has 11 diamonds flecked as the indexes and also a date window at the 3 o' clock position. This alluring piece is presented on a stainless steel bracelet which completes the look of the watch.
This OMEGA Constellation model offers water resistance up to 100 meters. The watch has a transparent case back from where you can admire the workings of the movement, OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 8520 self-winding automatic movement, which adds to the preciseness of the watch. The movement boasts 50 hours of power reserve. The model has a chronometer labeled certificate given to it by the COSC. The glaring dial of this timepiece is protected by a scratch resistant and anti-reflective sapphire glass.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
