Established in 1848, OMEGA is a Swiss luxury watchmaker known for producing highly precise timekeepers that have set the benchmark in watchmaking technology.
The Constellation collection, with its “griffes” or claws, boasts of highly distinctively designs with striking dials. The collection was originally introduced in 1982 and then launched again in 2009 with a stunning new design that has been appreciated by women around the globe.
The diamond studded bezel makes this timepiece truly a work of art. This model features an engraved blue mother-of-pearl dial decorated with a wavy pattern extending from the iconic claws. The bejewelled dial is complete with 12 diamond indexes and encased within a 24 mm stainless steel case. The timepiece is presented on the stainless steel bracelet that beautifully matches the case while complementing the stunning diamonds on the bezel.
The watch is powered by the OMEGA 1376, a quartz movement that is extremely precise in its functionality. The movement is adorned with Rhodium-plated finish and has a power reserve of 41 months. The dial is protected by a domed, scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the inside. The timepiece is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
