The Omega 220.127.116.11.52.001 is renowned for its ultra-precise movements and stylish case. Like its progenitor Constellation Manhattan, the timepiece has four characteristic ‘’griffes’’ or claws on its bezel to keep the sapphire crystal intact and to make the watch water proof. Imprinted with Roman numerals, the stationary bezel on the 38 mm steel case, adds intricacy to this great masterpiece.
Encased in a steel case, the silver dial imparts an alluring look to the exquisite timepiece. Encrusted with 11 diamond indexes as hour markers and a date window at the 3 o’clock position, the dial appears impressive. The dauphine shaped hour and minute hands are made of stainless steel. A star signifying the collection characteristic is located above the 6 o’clock position, adding embellished beauty to the watch. With the brand’s logo at the 12 o’clock position, the timepiece proudly presents its authentic beauty.
The sapphire crystal glass also renders the face of the watch scratch free and shatter proof. An anti-reflective treatment on both sides of the sapphire crystal covering the watch face, allows you to check the time even in a bright environment. You can change the time setting according to your convenience by using the ergonomic ribbed crown.
Complementing the prominent dial, a brushed steel brushed is provided to fit your wrist. The steel bracelet is equipped with a push button fold over clasp. You can easily observe the magical movements of the timepiece as it has a transparent case back.
You can even go swimming wearing this watch as it has a water resistance to a depth of 100 m.
This certified chronometer is powered by the Omega 8500, the watch functions with durability and precision. It is resistant to shocks and other external disturbances as the timepiece is equipped with a free-sprung balance. The winding time can be reduced as the automatic winding is possible in both the directions. It has a power reserve of 60 hours.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
