The iconic brand was established by Louis Brandt in 1848. OMEGA is today considered one of the best watchmakers in the world thanks to its continuous innovations in technology and the highly refined designs of its timepieces.
The OMEGA Constellation timepiece is an edge above the rest because of its splendid bronze-coloured dial, which is truly one of its kind. Bearing the stunning “Griffes” or claws which are characteristic of the collection, the dial truly makes a great style statement. Silver-coloured hands and indexes stand majestically on the dial and a date display window resides at 3 o’clock. The bronze dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal which has been coated with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The stainless steel bezel is engraved with Roman numerals and is mounted on a 38 mm stainless steel case. The matching stainless steel bracelet gives the timepiece a classy touch. The charter star is placed at the 6 o’clock position. The bronze dial and the crystal clear caseback spells class in every aspect.
This piece of art is quite technologically advanced as well. The chronometer certification assures the utmost precision in timekeeping. The OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 8500 includes an Si14 free sprung silicon balance system and two barrels. The automatic winding in both the directions curtails the winding time. The bridges and the oscillating mass are decorated with exclusive Geneva waves. The timepiece has a power reserve of 60 hours and a warranty period of 2 years. It is also water resistant to a relative pressure of 10 bars or 100 metres.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
