Omega is a name synonymous to quality and precision. Its name is associated with some of the most prestigious events, which include the Olympics and the Commonwealth games. The Omega watches have reached the moon and have also gone to the bottom of the sea. They have also been worn by James Bond in the movie series.
The Omega Constellation Quartz 27 mm 188.8.131.52.02.001 model exudes a timeless appeal. The round silver dial is gracefully designed with silver indexes as hour markers. Roman numerals as hour markers are calibrated on the silver bezel, which is mounted on the 27 mm stainless steel case. Besides, the bezel is also characterized by the famous “Griffes” or claws, which is a patent feature for all Constellation timepieces. The beautiful stainless steel bracelet enhances the appearance of the watch even more and its push button foldover clasp enables ease of wear, apart from fastening the watch securely to your wrist.
Crafted using sapphire crystal, the case window shields the watch completely from external damages. In addition to that, the crystal also allows you to see the time with clarity even in bright sunlight, owing to its anti reflective coating.
Equipped with one of the most advanced precision quartz movements of Omega, Calibre 1376, the watch reads impeccable time. Moreover, it has an amazing power reserve of 41 months and is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres. This means you can go bathing, snorkelling, diving, or swimming while wearing the timekeeper.
One of the most well known brand ambassadors of the Omega Constellation series watches is Zhang Ziyi- the talented actress seen in the popular movies “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” and “The Memoirs of a Geisha”.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
