Longines’ history dates back to the early 19th century. It was founded in 1832 by Aguste Agassiz who developed interest in the field while working for a firm that traded watch parts. The company soon earned recognition in the world of sports and is known for its sport watches and chronographs. The company now owned by the renowned Swatch Group has the oldest registered emblem for a watchmaker.
Longines Master Collection includes some really classy timepieces and the beautifully crafted L2.522.214.171.124 is one of the best it has on offer. The watch comes with a 36 mm neatly polished stainless steel case presented on a matching bracelet. It has a unique silver quilted dial studded with 12 diamonds that serve as the hour markers. It has stainless steel minute and hour hands that offer a clear view of the time. The silver emblem of the brand beneath the 12 o’ clock position enhances its look.
This tastefully designed watch for men has self winding mechanical movement. The watch is equipped with a date window positioned at 3 o’ clock. It is fitted with the scratch resistant synthetic sapphire crystal to ensure that your watch remains intact for years. The watch is water resistant to a depth of 30 meters.
Longines supplied timers for the first ever modern Olympics held back in the year 1896. It became the official time keeper for the Olympic Games for the first time in 1952 when the event was hosted in Oslo. The brand has partnered with this prestigious international sports event several times since then. It has timed the Olympics as many as fourteen times.
Longines launched its Master line of product in 2005 as a range under the Watchmaking Tradition collection. Since then the range has continued to launch timepieces, which have sparked interest among watch enthusiasts across the globe. The initials versions from the range only made use of stainless steel dials. The trend changed when the company diversified the collection with the introduction of metals like pink and yellow gold, a select few featuring a novel combination of a black dial.
A number of models has been launched under the Longines’ Master collection. This includes a wider choice in diameter sizes and belt straps. From shiny brown alligator leather strap to two-toned metal bracelets, the series has something to offer to every watch aficionado. Since the line has models for both the genders, the diameter width can span from 25.5 mm for the women’s collection to 44 mm for the men’s watches. Some of the timepieces from the women’s collection also have diamonds adorning the case. The watches come with transparent sapphire case back, allowing you to unravel the mystery behind each movement.
Some of the watches from the men’s collection have as many as three subdials for chronograph functions so you can measure elapsed time as precisely as the current time. A date window and a moonphase mechanism are also popular functionalities proffered by this collection.
Dubbed as the Michael Jackson of Hong Kong, Aaron Kwok is one of the most loved artists in Asia today. He won the Golden Horse Award in 2005 as a leading actor for the film “Divergent”. Andre Agassi, the tennis champion is another name associated with Longines.
