The Flagship Heritage Collection timepieces by Longines derived its inspiration from the pioneering spirit, that leads the company through its 183 year old of success. The collection demonstrates the continuous growth of the brand in terms of innovation, by inheriting its aesthetical watch making traditions and blending contemporary technologies of self winding movements with an exorbitant design.
The Longines Flagship Heritage L4.718.104.22.168 displays an accurate chronograph with a contemporary lavish design. This watch features 18 carat rose gold coated stainless steel bezel, housing a silver dial. Eight Rose Gold indexes are used as the basic hour indexes of the watch, while the remaining four are situated on the prime positions (3, 6, 9 and 12) marked on the dial in black. Minute indexes are etched out on the outer rim of the dial giving the watch an exquisite finish. This timepiece flaunts its classic design by employing toned rose gold hour and minute hands along with 2 rose gold second’s arms. Behind every timepiece of this collection, the rose gold lacquered crown and the Flagship logo on the dial reveal the richness of the design.
The Longines Flagship Heritage L4.722.214.171.124 features a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside, thus protecting the dial from damage. The timepiece is also made water-resistant up to depth of 30 metres as it can be easily used while snorkelling and swimming. The Calibre drive of this watch is powered with self-winding mechanical movement, delivering an accurate time precision. The chronograph ascribes 3 sub dials namely; a moon phase indicator sub dial at the 6 o’clock position, a small seconds sub dial at the 9 o’clock position and a day date display window at the 12 o’clock position. Users derive great comfort and a tight grip with the black leather strap complimenting the bezel with a tang buckle. The pressure fitted case back pivots the functioning of the watch towards any atmospheric condition, rendering it dust and moisture proof.
There was a time when Longines timekeepers were not just artisans excelling in their field. They were explorers and adventurers, who not only designed watches but tested them during memorable flights and underwater adventures. The timepieces from the Heritage Collection celebrate their uninhibited spirits, responsible for creating history in the field of horology. Even today Longines continues to be rooted in its essence of originality by manufacturing stunningly designed timepieces. The company is recognised for introducing technologies, which have changed the face of the watchmaking industry and the Heritage collection is a tribute to such designers.
The watches from this collection are equipped mostly with round cases crafted from stainless-steel or pink gold. The dials are protected with AR sapphire crystal, making them scratch resistant and enhancing their sunlight legibility. Select models feature a transparent caseback allowing a glimpse into the intricate mechanism of the watch.
The collection is a tribute to mavericks and daredevils whose significant contributions to horology led to complex functionalities, enhanced reliability and durability. It is a matter of course that watches from this collection boast an assorted range of features in its models- so connoisseurs who want a blend of form and function can choose a watch with utilities specific to their needs. Certain timepieces have luminous hour markers for legibility in the darkness. Others feature a chronograh function to measure elapsed time. A date window in select models, gives a holistic view of time. A precise Swiss automatic movement renders the watches in the collection singularly reliable.
Charles Lindbergh was the first man to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. The flagship model of the heritage collection is the remake of The Charles Lindbergh model. To enable the timepiece to withstand the challenging conditions of the flight, the pilot himself conceived the original model. The remake of this watch is an extraordinary feat. It involves a unique design and elaborate detailing. The most interesting attribute of the watch is its “hour angle feature”. This trait allows the wearer in determining his current position. As the earth makes a complete rotation of 360 degree on its axis in 24 hours, one hour represents a change of 15 degree. So if the angle on the watch measured 30 degree, for example, it would mean that he is two hours off the GMT.
