History: The Longines Master Collection was launched in 2005, and experimented with models in pink and yellow gold, with large dials and great functionality.
Display: While the diameter of the dial is 40 mm, it manages to fit in three subdials with chronograph functions without looking cluttered. The dial has a black finish with a ""barleycorn"" pattern, and you can tell the time on 9 white Arabic numerals using the silvered hands.
The outer rim of the analog dial features minute markers. You can tell the time in the darkness via the luminescent coating on the hands and markers.
Features: This Master Collection watch has a round case which is incredibly durable - it is crafted in stainless steel, and high quality scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is used to cover the dial. You can admire the workings of the motor from a sapphire crystal transparent case back. Functions include hours, minutes, and a central 60 seconds chronograph. The date is displayed on a circle ring, via the half-moon central hand.
The watch displays moon phases, which are useful for tide calculations, via the sub-dial twelve hour counter on the 6 'o'clock position. Neighbouring the 9 o'clock position is the small seconds (24 hours indicator), while the 12 o'clock neighbours the 30 minutes counter with day and month display. The Longines L2.6188.8.131.52 has a water-resistance of up to 3 bars (approximately a hundred feet, or 30 meters)
The movement on this Longines is the L678 self-winding mechanical, ticking at 28,800 vibrations per hour (giving it a great amount of precision), with 46 hours of power reserve.
The bracelet is made of rust proof stainless steel, and a triple safety clasp and push-piece opening mechanism prevents accidental opening, making it a sturdy watch for outdoor use.
Longines launched its Master line of product in 2005 as a range under the Watchmaking Tradition collection. Since then the range has continued to launch timepieces, which have sparked interest among watch enthusiasts across the globe. The initials versions from the range only made use of stainless steel dials. The trend changed when the company diversified the collection with the introduction of metals like pink and yellow gold, a select few featuring a novel combination of a black dial.
A number of models has been launched under the Longines’ Master collection. This includes a wider choice in diameter sizes and belt straps. From shiny brown alligator leather strap to two-toned metal bracelets, the series has something to offer to every watch aficionado. Since the line has models for both the genders, the diameter width can span from 25.5 mm for the women’s collection to 44 mm for the men’s watches. Some of the timepieces from the women’s collection also have diamonds adorning the case. The watches come with transparent sapphire case back, allowing you to unravel the mystery behind each movement.
Some of the watches from the men’s collection have as many as three subdials for chronograph functions so you can measure elapsed time as precisely as the current time. A date window and a moonphase mechanism are also popular functionalities proffered by this collection.
Dubbed as the Michael Jackson of Hong Kong, Aaron Kwok is one of the most loved artists in Asia today. He won the Golden Horse Award in 2005 as a leading actor for the film “Divergent”. Andre Agassi, the tennis champion is another name associated with Longines.
