Longines, a globally celebrated brand, was introduced in the year 1832 by Auguste Agassiz. Beginning its journey as a manufacturer of pocket watches, the brand soon grew by establishing its very first factory in Saint-Imeir, in the year 1867.
Within a period of 5-10 years, Longines was able to develop a system of mechanized production, hence aiming at detailed precision and accuracy. By the end of the century, the brand’s timepieces were now used by explorers to carry out expeditions. The year 1913, was a period of innovation for the brand, with the introduction of the single-push caliber wristwatch. By mid-20th century, Longines developed an electronic quartz movement, reaching new heights of accuracy along with reliability. With the start of the 21st century, the company now focused on reflecting tradition, elegance and performance by using the right blend of accuracy, style and quality.
Belonging to the Master Automatic Collection (Model no: L2.618.104.22.168) for men, this model features a classic alligator brown leather strap that offers great comfort. Featuring a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, this watch is protected from external forces.
With a simple silver dial at its core, the watch offers a perfect blend of performance and style, making it a suitable accessory for every occasion. The painted black Arabic numerals and blue sward shaped hands add a touch f elegance to the timepiece. Its mechanism is placed within a steel case of diameter 38.5mm. The case has a transparent back that allows you to see the watch movement, and admire its complex working whenever you please.
Designated with an automatic movement, it offers great precision. This watch is water resistant up to a level of 30m, ensuring protection from any sort of unexpected spills. A date window is constructed at 6 o’ clock, giving the watch a perfect finish.
Longines launched its Master line of product in 2005 as a range under the Watchmaking Tradition collection. Since then the range has continued to launch timepieces, which have sparked interest among watch enthusiasts across the globe. The initials versions from the range only made use of stainless steel dials. The trend changed when the company diversified the collection with the introduction of metals like pink and yellow gold, a select few featuring a novel combination of a black dial.
A number of models has been launched under the Longines’ Master collection. This includes a wider choice in diameter sizes and belt straps. From shiny brown alligator leather strap to two-toned metal bracelets, the series has something to offer to every watch aficionado. Since the line has models for both the genders, the diameter width can span from 25.5 mm for the women’s collection to 44 mm for the men’s watches. Some of the timepieces from the women’s collection also have diamonds adorning the case. The watches come with transparent sapphire case back, allowing you to unravel the mystery behind each movement.
Some of the watches from the men’s collection have as many as three subdials for chronograph functions so you can measure elapsed time as precisely as the current time. A date window and a moonphase mechanism are also popular functionalities proffered by this collection.
