Launched as a limited edition, the Maxime Manufacture Automatic was introduced under the Classics collection to appeal to a new generation of watch aficionados. There are just 1888 pieces of the FC-700SMG5M6 model available across the globe, which makes the timepiece a covetable horological artwork to connoisseurs worldwide.
Presented on a black Alligator Strap, this timepiece from the house of Frederique Constant is manufactured with utmost care and makes use of the finest quality raw materials. Enclosed within a 42 mm stainless steel case lies an intricately detailed black dial. Bevelled edges connect the case to the strap and make the timepiece an extremely comfortable wear. Divided into two distinct spheres, the inner circle of the dial has been decorated with a sunray guilloché pattern while roman numerals adorn the outer rim. Minute calibrations on the perimeter add a sporty look to an otherwise understated and timeless design. The dauphine hour and minute hands, which adorn the face of the watch, have been coated with a luminescent material to ensure readability even in the dark. A circular subdial is placed at the 6 o’clock hour marker to display the current date. The watch is rendered shatterproof and scratch resistant by the use of a convex Sapphire crystal as its face.
Equipped with the FC-700 caliber, the timepiece beats at 28'800 alt/h, which makes it highly precise. Making use of a Silicium escapement wheel, the FC-700SMG5M6 model is reliable to a great degree. The watch makes use of 26 jewels to lend it the ability to work under minimised conditions of friction for enhanced mechanical efficiency. An impressive power reserve of 48 hours is ensured because of the automatic winding of the timepiece. Being water resistant to a depth of 50 meters, the watch will not be damaged even if it is worn during a downpour and while washing hands.
Founded in the year 1988 by Dutch entrepreneur Peter Stas and his wife Aletta Bax, Frederique Constant was named after the great grandparents of the founders. Established in Plan-les Ouates, the company has introduced more than 15 distinct manufacture movements as of 2014. A total of 7 different collections feature manufacture movements. These collections include Zodiac, Classics, Heart Beat, Slimline, Slimline Moonphase, Tourbillon and Worldtimer.
The first manufacture movement watch to be added to the line of company’s ETA-powered watches was the Heartbeat Manufacture, which awarded the Watch of the Year in the category of up to €3000 by Horloges Magazine. All models of the Heartbeat Manufacture have a characteristic bridge for the balance located on the front side of the movement. Using a bridge for balance on the front side, allowed the makers to place the fine and spiral regulations on the front side, making the Heart Beat design. Each watch in this series comes with a round bezel, which gives a classic touch to the watch. The guilloche design patterns used on the dials of these time pieces add to their beauty.
American actress Eva Longoria and Indian Model/Actress Nicole Faria have had a strong association with Frederique Constant. Other prominent brand ambassadors include Hong Kong actor Sean Lau and Spanish actress Ines Sastre.
