The brand Frédérique Constant was formed by Peter Stas and Aletta Bax in its current form in the year 1988. This brand focuses on providing customers with the latest know-how, while maintaining a high level of style and designs. The watches in their collections aim at being accessible to the widest range of people possible.
The FC-710MC4H4 from Frederique Constant is an exquisite timepiece. Its case sports rose gold plating over steel. The round case houses a silver dial done up with guilloche effect to lend the piece greater magnificence. A thin bezel is used, which is also made of Rose gold plating done on steel. The hour markers of this watch are in black Roman numerals and with luminescent quality for better readability. There is an outer rim of minute markers on the dial. Like the markers, the hands of the watch, including the hours, minutes and seconds hands are also in black and come with luminescent fill. The name of the brand can be clearly made out on the dial. It is located above the centre of the watch but below the twelfth hour. Scratch-resistant and durable sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches and grazes. It also sports a date display aperture at the sixth hour, which is meant to provide you with precise and rapid date correction. A screw down crown controls the hands and various functions of this watch. The strap of the watch is made up of crococalf and comes fitted with a deployment clasp with push-button mechanism. To ensure wearers complete access and uninterrupted view of the mechanism of the watch, it sports a skeletal case back.
The FC-710MC4H4 watch from Frederique Constant uses a FC 710 calibre movement. An automatic winding mechanism controls the functions of the watch. It offers a power reserve of 42 hours. It is water-resistant to a depth of 165 feet or 50 metres. This means that the watch can be worn while bathing or swimming without damaging the mechanism of the watch.
Founded in the year 1988 by Dutch entrepreneur Peter Stas and his wife Aletta Bax, Frederique Constant was named after the great grandparents of the founders. Established in Plan-les Ouates, the company has introduced more than 15 distinct manufacture movements as of 2014. A total of 7 different collections feature manufacture movements. These collections include Zodiac, Classics, Heart Beat, Slimline, Slimline Moonphase, Tourbillon and Worldtimer.
The first manufacture movement watch to be added to the line of company’s ETA-powered watches was the Heartbeat Manufacture, which awarded the Watch of the Year in the category of up to €3000 by Horloges Magazine. All models of the Heartbeat Manufacture have a characteristic bridge for the balance located on the front side of the movement. Using a bridge for balance on the front side, allowed the makers to place the fine and spiral regulations on the front side, making the Heart Beat design. Each watch in this series comes with a round bezel, which gives a classic touch to the watch. The guilloche design patterns used on the dials of these time pieces add to their beauty.
American actress Eva Longoria and Indian Model/Actress Nicole Faria have had a strong association with Frederique Constant. Other prominent brand ambassadors include Hong Kong actor Sean Lau and Spanish actress Ines Sastre.
