Product Description
History
Scott Carpenter was the first man to wear the Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute in space, when the Aurora 7 capsule orbited the earth thrice on the 24th of May 1962. Thus this timepiece became the first Breitling chronograph to traverse the expanse of space.
Design
The Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute RB0210B5/BC19/744P/R20D.1 sports a round, black dial with Arabic numerals and baton style indexes in white and grey. Its date aperture is positioned between 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock and the three sub-dials are positioned at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock consecutively. A cambered, glareproof sapphire crystal protects the dial from external wear and tear. The mechanics of this timepiece are encompassed by a 43 mm, 18 carat gold case. A bidirectional bezel is mounted on the case and features a slide rule, which allows pilots to deal with complex calculations. Attached to the side of the bezel is a winding screw that can be locked. The bezel also features two stopwatch push buttons at either of its sides. A black, crocodile leather strap has been specially designed for comfort. It comes with a tested deployment clasp that enables easy fastening of the timekeeper to the wrist.
Features
The watch has a mechanical Breitling Caliber 2 movement. It has a power reserve of 70 hours and beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour. It is water resistant to a depth of 30 meters and is safe from minor splashes of water.
Interesting Facts
The Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute features 24-hour graduation. In space this facet is an imperative, and is used to tell the difference between night and day.

This watch looks gorgeous. It is a perfect example of fusion of futuristic machine technology with fine artistic watch crafting. Belonging to the Navitimer Cosmonaute family of Breitling this time teller reveals perfection in beauty. Loaded with ultra high precision features like Tachymeter, all the three hour, minute and second chronograph along with date window, this art piece finds its place in the family of sophistication. Its big round gold casing with black dial having white bezel gives a masculine look to it.Inspired by the cosmonauts this time piece comes with a 24 hour display rather than regular 12 hour time making it a unique time piece. The dial incorporates luminous hands along with indexes that illuminates in dark. Protected by scratch resistant sapphire glass with water resistance of 30 m i find this a perfect automatic movement time piece for all occasions.
