Breguet is named after its founder A.L Breguet, who was a man with a talent of designing and making the most brilliant timepieces. His creations were worn by the royalty of Europe, which included Louis XVI and his queen Marie-Antoinette, Caroline Murat, Napoleon Bonaparte, Tsar Alexander I of Russia, Queen Victoria and many others. The brand continued to make beautiful timepieces even after its founder’s death in 1823. Today it is popular and well known all over the world for its efficiency and style.
The Breguet 8918BB58864D00D model has been especially designed for the comfort of women. It is a Reine de Naples wristwatch, presented in 18 carat white gold. With a case diametre of 28.45 mm, the watch is the ideal size for the delicate wrist of a woman. An engine turned silver dial, with an offset at 6 o’clock, which features a mother of pearl face, gives this timepiece its brilliance. Marked with Arabic numerals and embedded with a diamond in the shape of a pearl at 6 o’clock, this timepiece is highly appealing. Its crown is fixed to the side of the case just next to the 4 o’clock position. The crown itself is set with a delicately cut diamond. Mounted by a raised bezel set with 117 intricate diamonds, this timepiece is every woman’s dream come true. A black strap complements the white and silver of the dial, adding more grace.
Equipped with a sapphire crystal caseback, this timepiece is quite sturdy. It has a caliber of 537/1 and a self-winding movement, which offers it accuracy. The watch features a power reserve of 40 hours, thus it will read accurate time even if it is not worn for a day or two. Being water resistant to a depth of 30 metres, this timepiece can withstand light spills and splashes of water.
In 1810, Napolean Bonaparte’s sister, the Queen of Naples ordered a wristwatch from Breguet which was completed in 1812. Inspired by that bracelet watch, the entire Reine de Naples Collection by Breguet is dedicated to alluring and mesmerizing women. Throughout the course of its rich history, Breguet has enchanted some of the most prominent women in French royalty including Empress Josephine, the marquise de Condorcet, and Queen Marie-Antoinnette among others. In 2002, Breguet received a patent for the moon-phase mechanism used in the Reine de Naples watches.
This stunning collection consists of exquisitely crafted watches with elegant designs that truly live up to the moniker of "Watches fit for a queen". Giving them a distinctive appeal are the egg-shaped cases with the crown located at the 4 o’clock position. Another unique feature that adorns some of these watches are the single ball-shaped lugs located at the 6 o’clock position. Numerous exclusive and refined bracelets are available as options. There are leather straps in several shades, chain bracelets in yellow gold, Charlestone bracelets in white gold, natural pearl bracelets, and more.
The Reine De Naples collection has won several accolades from notable authorities, leaving no doubt about its stature among its contemporaries.
