Breguet, founded in 1775, stands as a watch maker that has made the modern wristwatch what it is today. The first watch was created by Breguet for the Queen of Naples, in 1812. The Reine De Naples collection is a tribute to that watch. Among the foremost women, who Breguet catered to, were Marie Antoinette, Empress Josephine, and Marquis De Condorcet among others. With awards like ‘Best women’s watch’ in the year 2013, by Revolution magazine, Reine De Naples Collection has indeed proven itself to be a symbol of feminine refinement in a contemporary jewellery watch.
A homage to the Queen of Naples, the Breguet 8918BA58J20D000, is unparalleled in its beauty and elegance. Featuring a captivating design with an 18 carat yellow gold case, and an 18 carat yellow gold bracelet, the piece is one worthy of the royalty.
The case measures 36mm x 28mm and is oval in shape. The mother of pearl dial embodies offset Arabic numeral hour markers, and minute markers in the guilloche textured sub dial that pave the way for the classic blue Breguet styled hands. 117 top quality round diamonds, weighing 0.99 carats, embellish the bezel set. The case is crowned with a single diamond weighing approximately 0.26 carats.
The exquisitely designed piece features the signature Breguet style coined edge case, and classic Breguet styled, making the watch a glorification of its rich past. Housing automatic movement, Breguet caliber 537/1, that beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour, with 29 jewels and a 40 hour power reserve, the watch is an exemplary piece, that not only incorporates a captivating design but also, technical perfection. Furthermore, the watch is water resistant up to 30m, and its sapphire crystal back is scratch resistant, making the watch an everlasting timepiece, reflecting the grandeur and grace of the original piece.
In 1810, Napolean Bonaparte’s sister, the Queen of Naples ordered a wristwatch from Breguet which was completed in 1812. Inspired by that bracelet watch, the entire Reine de Naples Collection by Breguet is dedicated to alluring and mesmerizing women. Throughout the course of its rich history, Breguet has enchanted some of the most prominent women in French royalty including Empress Josephine, the marquise de Condorcet, and Queen Marie-Antoinnette among others. In 2002, Breguet received a patent for the moon-phase mechanism used in the Reine de Naples watches.
This stunning collection consists of exquisitely crafted watches with elegant designs that truly live up to the moniker of "Watches fit for a queen". Giving them a distinctive appeal are the egg-shaped cases with the crown located at the 4 o’clock position. Another unique feature that adorns some of these watches are the single ball-shaped lugs located at the 6 o’clock position. Numerous exclusive and refined bracelets are available as options. There are leather straps in several shades, chain bracelets in yellow gold, Charlestone bracelets in white gold, natural pearl bracelets, and more.
