Having garnered extensive reputation and respect in the international watch market, Baume et Mercier is the world’s seventh oldest Swiss watch brand. One associates its name with expert artistry and technical dexterity in each of its horological creations. William Baume and Paul Mercier, its founders, adhered to their motto of, “Accept only perfection, only manufacture watches of the highest quality”; which has been strictly carried forward by the future generations. Its Capeland collection is defined by its universality and chic sporty appeal. This range of timepieces has taken its inspiration from a Baume et Mercier chronograph created in 1948.
Even though structured in a classical circular shape, the appeal of the MOA10068 Capeland Baume et Mercier men’s watch lies in the hint of vintage given to it by its creators. Measuring 44 millimetres in diameter and 16.5 millimetres in thickness, this steel watch is further endowed with a sapphire crystal case back and anti-scratch properties. The steel of the case has an elegant polished satin-finish, which renders it sophistication beyond compare. With an Opaline finish, the beauty of the black dial is enhanced by the gilt Breguet type hands pointing at Arabic transferred numerals. The plates and bridges are grain finished. A light brown alligator strap closed by a pin buckle shall firmly grip a masculine wrist. The dial also displays two Opaline finished black counters.
An automatic Swiss watch, it is driven by a La Joux Perret 8147-2 with a flyback function. This horological masterpiece is equipped with a date and time aperture, as well as two graduated scales. One scale is tachymetric, the other being telemetric. With 42 hours of power reserve and 4Hz/28800Vph frequency, this Capeland timepiece is undoubtedly a must have. Gracing one’s wrist, it shall definitely grab eyeballs.
Characterized by rugged round cases that offer a distinctly masculine look, the Capeland Collection is Baume & Mercier’s flagship range of performance-driven chronographs. The original aesthetic was inspired by a watch launched in 1948. However the line uses the latest know-how to enable its functionalities. Thus the Capeland experience offers a compelling combination of a classic vintage look with technologically driven performance.
A 42-44m round case made of stainless-steel or rose-gold encompasses the watch. The strap is made of leather or stainless steel. Dial colours offer attractive choices including white, blue, black and brown. In most timepieces the dial contains 3 chronograph counters for measuring elapsed time but seelct models such as the Worldtimer offer cleaner dials
The Capeland collection offers a wide range of functionalities including chronogrpaph , world time, date and telemeter. Som eof the models have a transparent caseback for you to enjoy the inner mechanism of the watch. A 50-metre water resistance allows you to make the collection a part of your daily wardrobe staple. An automatic movement renders the collection precise and reliable for generations.
The Capeland Collection includes numerous celebrites from the world of Hollywood including Ashton Kutcher, Teri Hatcher, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kim Basinger.

The model featured here is a Capeland chronograph.the watch is reincarnation of the early 1930 military chronographs designed by leading names such as Longines, Rolex, Omega and Baume itself.
The black dial with the concentric orange circles is a true classic design.the while indexed outer dial is a telemeter function , a range finder with ability to calculate the distance to an object in kms. The flyback chronograph is truly remarkable complication barring the reset time.
the brown strap is a contrast to the black theme maintained to match the inner orange rings. 44 mm is fairly sized.
Overall verdict :watch with an exuberant personality heavily loaded with features, rich history from a renowned brand but priced at Rolex rates.
