Raymond Weil, one of the flagships of the watch making industry, was founded in 1976. In the midst of watch crisis, Mr. Weil sought to bring about a change. Succeeding in doing so, the Weil institution was born. The legend was passed on to his son-in-law, Oliver Bernhiem, whose appointment re-enforced the family-run nature of the business. Ever since, music and art have been the essence of the company’s success. That spirit of the company still prevails, and has been embodied in a large number of collections such as Parsifal, Freelancer, and Jasmine among others. The Freelancer collection was created in 2007, paying a tribute to Mr. Weil and his urge to remain independent.
The Freelancer 7735-ST-60001 for men, is an addition to the bold and fearless Freelancer collection. A dark grey dial is placed amidst the stainless steel case that measures 42mm in diameter and 13mm in thickness. The case is attached to a stainless steel bracelet.
Luminous hands and index markers give the watch a futuristic look. Two sub dials, displaying 30 minutes and 12 hours, are impeccably placed amidst this masterpiece. Further enhancing the boldness of the watch, the watch incorporates a blue hand in the centre. A day and date window is zealously positioned at 3 o’clock.
The sapphire crystal glass enclosing the piece is scratch resistant. A skeletal back gives us an insight into the Swiss automatic movement of the watch. A deployment push button steel clasp is also incorporated in this piece. Durability is ensured, as this piece is also water resistant up to 100m. Exuding elements of the rich Raymond Weil heritage and a meticulous metallic finish, the watch is a symbol of tradition combined with modern application.
In 2007, Raymond Weil launched the magnificent Freelancer collection of watches. The name of the collection is a tribute to the uninhibited spirt of the artist, the maverick and the pioneer who expresses his creativity impassionedly and freely. The Freelancer collection includes watches for men and women and delights them both in equal measures.
The Freelancer Range of watches from Raymond Weil is extremely diverse in terms of the number of styles and designs it offers. These watches come in stainless-steel or titanium cases with mirror finish. Select models offer a gold plating in rose or yellow for a touch of opulence. The strap is made in either immaculately stitched leather or polished stainless steel, some watches featuring a dual combination of steel and gold. The case window is fabricated in sapphire crystal glass which is anti-reflective on both sides and hence offers a clear view of the time, while zealously guarding the case against wear and tear.
The Freelancer Range from Raymond Weil was the first amongst the watches to be brought out by the firm to have a visible balance wheel. A small aperture in the dial allowed the user a view of the moving mechanical part of the watch. It also marked the beginning of a mechanical range of watches for the ladies from this brand. Further enhancing the utility of the watch, the Freelancer series of watches has a luminescent dial, which allows viewing of time even in the dark. The more affluent watches of the Freelancer series come with an automatic chronograph feature that can be employed according to the user’s requirement. These watches are water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet.
