Raymond Weil Geneve, is a splendid face in the art of watch making today, and its history dates back to 1776, when it was established amidst a watch making crisis. The company brought about new dimensions to the art of watch making; it drew inspiration from art and music. A plethora of collections have been added in recent years, re-iterating the initial passion and excellence in performance that lead to the company’s success. The Freelancer collection was introduced in 2007, and as the name suggests, it is a reflection of the spirit embodied in fearless young men and women all over the world.
The model 2710-STC-20001 is an addition to the Freelancer collection. Breaking free from all restrictions, it incorporates a design that is traditional in origin, but contemporary in its expression. The polished steel case measures 42mm in diameter and encloses a black dial. Luminous silver hour markers and hands characterise the dial. A skeletal sub dial is placed amidst the watch and it gives us an insight into the brilliant movement of this exquisite timepiece. The case back is also transparent, making it a watch that incorporates technical precision, which is beautifully revealed in its cutting edge design. Black calfskin leather strap enhances the perfection of the piece.
The watch houses automatic self winding movement, that reflects the precision that Raymond Weil watches stand for. Water resistant up to 100 meters, the piece also epitomizes durability. A unique piece, which stands unparalleled in its design and performance, the watch is commemorated by people all over the world.
Raymond Weil pieces draw their inspiration from music and art. As the official time partner for the Brit Awards, the company celebrated its 10 year anniversary of this relation by presenting 40 men’s and 20 women’s Freelancer models to nominees, presenters and performers.
In 2007, Raymond Weil launched the magnificent Freelancer collection of watches. The name of the collection is a tribute to the uninhibited spirt of the artist, the maverick and the pioneer who expresses his creativity impassionedly and freely. The Freelancer collection includes watches for men and women and delights them both in equal measures.
The Freelancer Range of watches from Raymond Weil is extremely diverse in terms of the number of styles and designs it offers. These watches come in stainless-steel or titanium cases with mirror finish. Select models offer a gold plating in rose or yellow for a touch of opulence. The strap is made in either immaculately stitched leather or polished stainless steel, some watches featuring a dual combination of steel and gold. The case window is fabricated in sapphire crystal glass which is anti-reflective on both sides and hence offers a clear view of the time, while zealously guarding the case against wear and tear.
The Freelancer Range from Raymond Weil was the first amongst the watches to be brought out by the firm to have a visible balance wheel. A small aperture in the dial allowed the user a view of the moving mechanical part of the watch. It also marked the beginning of a mechanical range of watches for the ladies from this brand. Further enhancing the utility of the watch, the Freelancer series of watches has a luminescent dial, which allows viewing of time even in the dark. The more affluent watches of the Freelancer series come with an automatic chronograph feature that can be employed according to the user’s requirement. These watches are water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet.
